How to help someone who’s suffering a heart attack

Heart attack is a common disease amongst us today. It used to be the common killer amongst the elderly, but due to our lifestyles, heart disease now kills just about anybody. Even kids, as have been reported cases in the newspapers recently. One may not even realise that he or she is a victim of this disease until a heart attack occurs. Since this is such a common disease, you may just encounter a victim any day and here are some simple things you can do to help someone who is suffering a heart attack.

The first thing you should do when someone is having a heart attack is to call for medical help. Call for an ambulance or send the person to the emergency room immediately.

Have the person sit up instead of lying down. It is said that a person suffering a heart attack when being laid down, can cause the heart to stop beating.

If the person has stopped breathing, apply CPR to the victim.

If you are the heart attack victim and there is no one around you when you suffer a heart attack, learn how you can help yourself with some simple tips.
